He was killed the day he was whisked away

Giving a new twist, a prosecution witness in Abdul Rehman fake encounter case today disclosed before the principle district and sessions judge Srinagar that the civilian whisked away by police from Batamaloo in 2006 was killed on the same evening at Waskoora in Ganderbal.

The prosecution witness added that on December 8, 2006 he was a part of a police party which boarded Rakshak vehicle from Sumbal to Ganderbal and then to Batamaloo in Srinagar where on prior direction, they were supposed to chase a militant.

"When we reached the spot (Batamaloo petrol pump) a civilian accompanied by a tall police man approached us. We approached the civilian and after frisking him we found Rs 500 to 600, some medicine and a mobile phone," the prosecution witness revealed.
