HUJI man arrested in Jammu, recoveries within 17 hours from Chatroo
With the arrest of a Harkat-ulJehad-e-Islami (HUJI) ‘chief commander’ along with pistol and grenade near Railway Station, police today claimed to have foiled a major bid to sabotage the election in Jammu district going to polls on December 24, 2008.
This was maintained by DIG Jammu-Kathua Range AQ Manhas and SSP Jammu Manohar Singh in a press conference at District Police Lines here today.
Sources in police department, however, averred that the HUJI ultra was detained by the Special Operation Group (SOG) Jammu from the city outskirts at-least a fortnight ago but in order to show their efficiency keep ing in view the seventh phase of elections in Jammu and Samba districts, the cops revealed his arrest last evening.
