India most active in initiating anti-dumping cases: World Bank
Setting an agenda for the London meeting of the leaders of 20 developed and developing countries on April 2, the World Bank report ‘Trade Protection:Incipient but Worrisome Trends’ said both China and India have increased the rebate on duty drawback system for exporters. “...although the subsidy component is a matter of discussion the timing of these measures raises questions,” the report said.
It said the developing countries initiated majority of anti-dumping investigations with India accounting for 29 percent of such moves. However, the developed nations accounted for the greatest number of duty impositions.

I’m the first Indian to be the face of Barbie: Katrina Kaif

“Contrary to what people believe my Barbie is not an Indian counterpart of the international brand. It’s an honour because I’m the first Indian to be the face of Barbie. I’ll be dressed the way the Barbie is all over the world.

Shoe-thrower had fair trial: Iraqi Prime Minister
In an interview broadcast on Sunday, al-Maliki disagreed that many Iraqis supported Muntadhar alZeidi’s act of shoe-throwing during a news conference last December by the two leaders in Baghdad.
Al-Zeidi was sentenced earlier this month in an Iraqi court to three years in prison after a quick trial two relatively brief hearings that fed widespread suspicion among Iraqis that al-Maliki’s US-backed government orchestrated the process. Defence lawyers said they had no evidence of interference, although they argued the sentence wasn’t warranted because al-Zeidi’s act was an expression of freedom and not a crime.

Jai Shri Ram,” Gandhi (29), son of late Sanjay Gandhi and Maneka, had said in his rabid and vitriolic speech against members of a minority community in a raised voice at the election meeting in Pilibhit from where he is being fielded.

Need to demolish Line of Control: Musharraf
He said he stood for peace between India and Pakistan and that the two sides should not let extremists play spoiler. He lamented that extremists were more at play in India rather in Pakistan. “In India, the Pakistan society, Army and the ISI were being vilified. Even political parties here make Pakistan an issue during elections, which is not the case in Pakistan,” he said. He said Indian media after December 13 attack on Indian Parliament as well as after 26/11 Mumbai attacks launched war hysteria. He said Pakistan too has a well oiled Army.
Musharraf said Pakistani people stood for peace but it should be “peace with honour and dignity, not through coercion”.

World War II hero out of jail after 8 years
Abner Aust looked anything but dangerous as he shuffled into a courtroom wearing an orange jail outfit and an elaborate hearing aid.
The highly decorated flying ace who shot down enemy fighters over Japan in the waning days of World War II, pleaded with Circuit Judge Randall McDonald to free him so he can get the help he needs for a litany of medical problems. “I’d just like to be out, sir,” the diminutive, bald headed Aust told the judge, who sentenced him to time served for violating probation and ordered him to spend the next two years on house arrest.
